Music With a Mission

Five music teachers, formerly of the Morton Academy of Music, are now teaching at the Barn!  The church considers this opportunity for music lessons to be a mission to our community.  Money paid by these teachers for the use of the church is being donated to the We Care Food Pantry.

Here's who is teaching:

1.  Denise Cooksey ~ flute

University of Illinois, B.M. and Bradley, M. Mus.  Teaches flute and piccolo at Knox College and ICC.  Denise has taught private lessons for over 40 years!

2.  Randy Cooksey ~ trumpet

Evansville University, B.A. and Master's from Bradley

3.  Phil Farwell ~ guitar
     309.258.5171
Phil teaches both acoustic and electric guitar, using many styles of music.  His students have won many trophies at state contests.

4.  Marianne Hartwig ~ piano

Bradley University graduate.  Member and past Dean of Peoria Chapter, American Guild of Organists.

5.  Joanna Spence ~ clarinet, violin, sax
     309.253.1502
Knox College, A.B. degree and M.A. Illinois State University.  Joanna has taught Vocal and Instrumental Music at Hopedale, Hollis and Illini Central.
